Does any one uses picnik for photo editing?

I'm trying to understand what will happen after picnik closing? Does it mean that I have to subscribe to google + in order to use picnik?

Re: Does any one uses picnik for photo editing?

I'm so sad it's closing. I use it to edit all of my photos. I don't know what I'm going to do now. I'm thinking of investing in photo shop but I'm not looking forward to the learning curve. I loved the fact that picnik was so easy.

Re: Does any one uses picnik for photo editing?

If you go to google + you can edit your photos the same way as Picnik, actually it looks the same but is a lot less fun, it looks more serious and also it has less things to play around, it sucks! I've read in some other thread that there is a few websites out there for easy photo editing; can someone come up with the link? I can't find the thread that talked about this, thank you!
I am sad too because it was great!

I'm really sad about Picnik as well. :(

I've just discovered it a month ago and now it's closing...

Re: Does any one uses picnik for photo editing?

Here's a thread with some alternatives to Picnik... http://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/9645027/

I recommend GIMP. It will give you the ability to do much more refined work on your pictures. It's like Photoshop... but FREE!!

There are some other suggestions in the thread I linked to above. Hope that helps!!

P.S. GIMP is a program that you download to your computer, and it's not owned by any one person or company. That means you don't have to worry that someone will 'close' GIMP.

Re: Does any one uses picnik for photo editing?

The way I understood the email from Picnik (I also loved them), you will still be able to use the free services. To me, that means you can't upload a whole bunch of pictures at once. I only used a few features of Picnik (Auto Adjust, Crop, and Resize). I'm now just using the first two in iPhoto, since I discovered Resize was making my pics all blurry. iPhoto works for me because it is super easy, and was free with my laptop. I'm sure it wicked expensive otherwise, as are all things Apple....

I'm sad about the closure too. I use it on a daily basis to edit photos for my blog. It is so handy and easy to use!

Kat - thanks for sharing that link :)

Re: Does any one uses picnik for photo editing?

Hi Kat and team~
I just read on the Picknik site that they are closing and moving their tools to Google + . Does this mean they have joined together with Google + and their tools will be part of that site? Would appreciate anyone's info on this.
