Do you use vacation mode for only a few days?

I will be gone for 5 days next week. I am wondering if people think its better to use the vacation mode option or just put a note in the shop notes alerting customers that I'll be unable to ship until I return? I don't mind the vacation mode for longer trips, but don't like that people can't look in my shop when its on, especially this time of year.

What do you do?

I do for ONE day if I'm going to be doing a craft fair, because you never know when you might sell something and my stuff is all fairly unique and one-of-a-kind.

For five days I would too, because my shipping policy is 'usually within 2 days, unless it's over a weekend or holiday'.

If you can put a note in saying people can order, but only if they're willing to wait for shipping until you get back, I'd say it's fine to leave it open. I don't think I'd do it for more than five days though.

A lot of people put an announcement that says, "Any purchases made between this date and that date will not be shipped out until this date."

Will you have computer access and be able to check your shop? I was gone last week for my day job, but I checked the shop every evening. I did have a sale on Wednesday, and promptly sent a convo explaining that I was out of town and would ship the items as soon as I returned. It worked out well.

This is not a good time of year to be away - so I'd keep the shop open if at all possible.

If you will have internet access, just put an announcement in your shop, and a note in the "note to buyer section" so that it is clear that you will not be shipping right away.

If you won't have internet access, then I'd opt for vacation mode just so customers don't get left waiting.

I will be checking the shop, so I think I will just put a note in my shop that I will ship when I return. Thanks!
