Do you shop "Sponsored Listings" when you do a Google Search?

Curious... Also, Will Etsy's sponsored ads be clearly marked like they are on Google?

Re: Do you shop "Sponsored Listings" when you do a Google Search?

I admit that after years of SEO work on my own website. I tend to look at the sites with natural ranking. I would love to hear if anyone else feels this way.

No i tend to bypass the sponsored results since they usually have nothing to do with what I'm actually searching for.

me too. I zip down to the natural search rankings. Wondering if Etsy new paid ads will be clearly marked. Seems they would have to be by law..

Re: Do you shop "Sponsored Listings" when you do a Google Search?

I don't. I tend to just scroll right past them. I agree with what was said above, that they often have nothing to do with what was searched.

But, with that firmly in mind, I'm still, considering, just out of curiosity, running an ad for a couple of dollars just to see what happens. Being found in the jewelry market is tough work, and I often feel like I'd try anything to be seen and make a sale. Obviously, people must click on the sponsered ads, or they wouldn't be there. Right?

So there's my take on it. There are two sides to this coin. Time will tell which side is shinier.

@beevintageredux -- well put. I guess time will tell. I always scroll past sponsored listings ... but you're right, there must be something good about it. BUT, mostly for the people getting paid, (Google and Etsy), I imagine. I want to see them in action before I step up to the plate.
