Do all lost items go to the Land of Misfits???

I have possibly 2 lost items by USPS and one broken one...And all in the lst month or so. Very disappointing indeed! I am just hoping they all are in the Land of Misfits with Rudolph.

Have you ever received an item back that you thought it was lost after a long time? And does it happen more often once the holiday season starts?

Ive been selling online for years and this last few months has been the absolute worst for so called 'lost' items. Im now logging them and its several times a month, this is crazy and its all over the world including my own which has never happened in years.

I have had several items returned to me since joining Etsy. This has involoved people putting the incorrect address details or a complete mystery.

Ivan, I had to refund twice because the items were lost in limbo...It makes me so sad and I think it was my local mail carrier's fault. And here I was thinking that printing labels at home and giving them to my MC was the way to go! Sad, real sad!

I had one delivered in the wrong city state....address was correct n everything. Can see it on stamps.com.....

I actually had an item, that had delivery tracking, say "delivered" on the tracking information. I got positive feedback from the buyer. And a MONTH later, it ended up back on my doorstep, unopened!
I contacted the buyer and sent it back out again, and she received it successfully the second time.

The weird part was that she left me positive feedback when she never got the package!

I know! I wish she had let me know she never got it, and I could have sent her out a new item rather than her waiting forever for the original!

I once had a package (from me in the Netherlands, to a customer in Portugal) returned to me after 7 months!
When it returned it had everything on it from footsteps to car tire prints, mud, several 'not deliverable' stamps, etc. The products (flexible crochet products) were totally flat and every bubble in the bubblewrap envelope was flat too.
When I contacted the buyer (who never told me it went missing...) and said I was making her a replacement order, she insisted on paying half of it, since it was not my fault. She even became a return customer.

Ow, can you believe I never lost a package for a US customer, after over six years of selling mainly to the US?
I have to say though that almost all of my packages are letter mail (so they won't be left on a doorstep, like I just read happens with lots of larger packages in the US).

I just had a package arrive sans contents. You can call the USPS and they will initiate a search. Good luck with that!

I have one that I'm watching the tracking info on now that is floating around Honolulu someplace. It was only supposed to go from here in Dallas, TX to just outside of Houston! It has only been an week so I'm hoping it makes it back to TX soon!!

I've had 4 this year, extremely frustrating. The last one was marked as "dead mail/sent to mail recovery center." God knows what happened to it. Maybe it was crushed enroute? I had another one last month that got sent to New York instead of Florida, and two others that were simply lost, never heard of. I don't waste my time putting insurance because the packages are really not that expensive, but I hate when that happens to my customers. Drives me extremely crazy!
