Do You Use Pinterest?

For those of you who use Pinterest, did you know including your price in your description places a little diagonal banner on your image?

Also, does anyone have tips on how to increase my views and such? And how to get them to convert to sales?

Thanks!

Here's my Pinterest page, if anyone is interested in following: http://pinterest.com/iceydesigns/

I tried including the price in some items just to make sure people knew that it was an item that they could buy (as opposed to a DIY tutorial or just a cool picture), but I don't think it made much difference. Also, if you change prices on your items, you have to go back and edit your pins. Of course, if your item has been repinned you can't do anything about it.

Re: Do You Use Pinterest?

I pin most of my stuff on pintrest. I got a lot of repins, but because people rarely tell you how they find your shop or item, I don't know if it is increasing my sales. I think it is, but sometimes I think people just repin to copy it them self. Oh well. Im glad they like my items regardless. I wouldnt worry about keeping the pricing up to date, or if the item sold, too much to deal with. Keep pining on pintrest, it can't hurt. As for changing them into sales, take good pictures, keep your pricing fair, fresh, and new, charge a fair shipping price, ship international, especially to Canda, you can go to USPS website and look up shipment cost to anyplace in the world, I keep a chart of all places I ship to, so I can easily list a shipping price. Ship by weight, not just some random amount. The other day i saw a head band which probably weighed less than an ounce, shipping to the usa from the usa for $6.00. And she asked why her sales were low. Hope this helps.

Re: Do You Use Pinterest?

Pinterest isn't supposed to be used for self promotion, though I think most Etsy sellers use it for that anyway (including myself, to a small degree). I only post some of my items. I don't want to appear too spammy because I mainly use Pinterest for fun, not for marketing. I have prices on some of my items but not all. My shop doesn't get much traffic from Pinterest.

Re: Do You Use Pinterest?

I have a board named "Gift Ideas" where I pin some of my items with pricing and include in the description either a holiday or recipient idea for gifting. I also pin gift ideas for my friends and family there so I can easily order when its time for a gift. If there is a price on your listing it is listed under the gift category on the main menu.

As for getting more views; good photos, categorize your boards and pick searchable or interesting board titles (I really need to do this), and keep working on getting followers. You never know who might repin your item. I had 1000 views from pinterest in the beginning of the month from one pin.

I'm up for more followers: http://pinterest.com/tintwinkie/

Re: Do You Use Pinterest?

love pinterest, love following other etsy people - creative minds are the best!
I have a couple items posted, but only a couple since I don't want to be spammy, but then why is there a pin it button on every listing now? I can and do post stuff from other etsy people, is that any different than posting my own?

Re: Do You Use Pinterest?

Pinterest is a great way to see what other people are looking for, thus giving you an idea what to sell or not sell. There are several Etsy teams that have team accounts to promote members. Even Etsy has an account!
