Dissed on Pinterest

Have any of you gotten dissed on pinterest?

I just found one of my items re-pinned with a nasty little comment attached to it.

After feeling good - that was a nice stab in the throat. :(

Yikes! I'm sorry that happened to you, Sara. Just know that even though there are some people are just flat out rude, there are plenty of others who love your items! There are at least 897 people who liked your items so much that they purchased them! :)

Not on Pinterest (that I know of), but on wanelo I found one of my ACEO saved to a "don't waste your money board".

Remember there's no such thing as bad publicity, hold your head up high and move on. Some people are far too mean with too much time on their hands and nothing better to do than put people down. Feel sorry for them :-)

Hold your head high. Look at your feedback. 100% on almost one thousand items? That's pretty good if you ask me. Try to ignore those negative nellies.

Aw, I am sorry! Your shop is so lovely, try not to put too much energy into a crappy thing like that. Like a pin that I have on my board says, "You are Not the Jerk Whisperer" ;)

I have had plenty of my items pinned to "D.I.Y" boards with comments about how easy they are to make. My thought is always, go for it. For every person that wants to DIY, there are 2 more that want to buy!

Oh, the joys of the internet. It's EVER-so-easy to snark. Just remember--all publicity is good publicity. And I'm certain some of the re-pins are people who LIKE the piece!

Cruised through your shop...now I'm wishing I'd hung ON to the brass wine glasses I got years and years ago. Didn't want to drink wine out of them...they were taking up space...so I donated them to a church rummage sale. They'd have been LOVELY painted sea-foam green.

Actually I like the bad publicity. Because it draws even more attention to your item. Like I would LOVE the hits if I was on like regretsy.com.

I filled mine up most of the way with sand and placed a tealight in it. So pretty!!

Pinning is just that...a teeny little pinpoint of space and time. Don't sweat the small stuff...your items are lovely and your photography is absolutely incredible!

Don't worry. You're not the only one... Joanne, One of my bracelets was once pinned on a "Don't Waste Your Money," board, too!
I was annoyed until somebody purchased it the next day. :)

Just remember that opinions are subjective, and bad publicity is better than no publicity.

I was just talking about this very thing with someone recently. It's funny how we can get 1,000 "I love it!!" comments and we keep puttering along, but then we get a single "I hate it" comment and we feel like everything is for naught and why are we even bothering? LOL We all do it!! I think it's because that one comment feeds our "I'm not good enough" fears. So one person and her snarky friends don't like an item and wouldn't buy it? I wouldn't buy a Chevy truck, but plenty of people do, I wouldn't shop in Sears, but loads do, and I wouldn't buy the movie "Hot Tub Time Machine", but I am sure there are plenty of people that did. Don't worry that one person wouldn't buy that whatever item from you! Just keep doing what you are doing, because obviously a lot of people would and do buy your stuff!! :)

How mean! I am sorry you had a bad Pintrest experience, but I hope you don't take it personally. People are just rude for the fun of it, and it is a good reminder to us to remember all the GOOD feedback we get all the time.

My mom is great in times like this, and I've become pretty good at channeling her! She'd probably ask me if I really cared about the opinions of some who spends time organizing things into a "Don't waste your money" board. Who has time for that?! It doesn't sound like she is your target market, so it's not worth your energy to focus on her. Instead, try to reach people who would love to spend money on what you make. It sounds like there are plenty of them!

your store and items are beautiful...my advice...play Florence and the Machines "shake it out" really loud on your music player and dance around the house...that will make you fell better;-)

Well I for one love your shop. I've cringed at the thought of one of my items being panned like that, but, as pointed out by other's here, any publicity is good publicity and draws people in to see what the fuss is all about.
