Difference in priority mail

I'm trying to stock up on my shipping supplies and had a question. Is a priority flat rate box different from just a priority mail box? Will the shipping cost be the same or different? Thanks!

Yes, priority Flat rate and general Priority are two different things.

Priority Flat rate comes in small, medium, large and envelope and the charge for each is the same regardless of the weight of the items or the distance the package is traveling.

Priority packaging postage is determined by the weight of the package and the distance.

Priority Mail Flat rate is the same price no matter where it goes in the US. Just Priority Mail is charged by the zone. You can save money by using just priority mail for items shipping in states near you, You can save money by using priority mail flat rate for shipping to state far away from you. If you are mailing really heavy items the flat rate is usually cheaper, if you are shipping lighter weight items the just priority can be cheaper as it is based on the weight and distance of the item.

And :) they will bring the boxes, envelopes, etc to your door. Yeah! I tend to use flat envelopes often.

If you can get the item in and then packing tape up the envelope it goes under the flat rate price. I use a lot of tape.

If you print the label at home it is $ 0.50 cheaper than filling it out in the store.
