Oh the joys of selling online.
Its just one of your many jobs as a store owner.

I just...deal with it. :)

The harder you work - the bigger your return.

Re: Description of items

There's no easy way to do it that I know of... but it's important to keep doing it because search engines frown at similar listings.

Re: Description of items

I hear ya but once its done you have an amazing listing where people are more likely to purchase. I try to just keep it real to me while listing all of the important facts. The buyer needs to trust you are giving them all of the information and feel well informed.

Re: Description of items

Hi, Lucille, beautiful jewelry! I would suggest that you use all five photos available for closeups, the piece against a white background, etc. instead of the same photo five times. Remember, the first three words in your title are the most important! Good luck!!

Re: Description of items

I find I do better when I actually right it on paper away from the computer..Then I just type it in later..Otherwise I will be back spacing all day. I also went over my tags and have way more views..

Re: Description of items

HI Lucille,

Your shop is beautiful and your items are very pretty!! I don't think there is a better way to deal with the time spent describing each item. It's part of the sales process. The more descriptive the better, since your customer can't touch and try on the item....so the time spent going through the process of describing and posting is worth the effort, and I can see it has helped because you have gotten some sales, awesome!!

Re: Description of items

Hi Lucille

I think you are over-describing a bit and I imagine it is because it is a higher priced item and you want to show the value. Definitely promote that it is unique and exotic and made from Kenyan materials, but there are other things you need to do such as tell women what to wear it with.

I wrote an article on Examples of Product Descriptions that Work on my blog.

We can't put links in here but my blog url is on my shop and profile page. It will help you keep your descriptions descriptive but more concise and leave them wanting to buy.

Re: Description of items

Hi Lucille Atiamuga! I started with creating duplicate listings for my similar products of only different colors. Then I came across SEO recommendations that content had better be unique, and I changed my approach. I tend to write longer descriptions with a lot of preparatory work so the task is indeed harder.

I handle this situation by taking in mind that this is inevitable and the right direction to follow, and I optimize my listings in portions. Hope this helps!
