Custom Order Help!

So, most of the stuff I make is a "one-of-a-kind"....but I got a request for 2 of my knit hats (two of the same one, not two different ones).
How do I go about this transaction? Do I just change item number from 1 to a 2?
Or do I list it as a custom order?
I just sold my first item and traffic is picking up..any help would be appreciated!

You could change a listing you already have.

I would change the listing I have and have a reserve on it for them with their name. Don't forgot in the listing for them say it is for two and change the price and shipping to reflect that.

Do I put the reserve in the description, or say its made to order?

I would put reserve in the title, and you might consider changing the image to something that is less descriptive to prevent other shoppers from mistakenly purchasing it. People who view Etsy on their iphones don't always see much of the description about a product, so it's best to put everything important in the photos.

You put reserve in the description IF it is a reserved listing. If it is just a matter of increasing your quantity of 1 to 2, I wouldn't worry about it.

It depends on what your customer is asking and which way you want to go here.

This time of year I would definitely title it "Reserved Listing for - - -" Unless you have lots of time to make 4 - I would hate for someone else to purchase a listing for 2 ! A disappointed customer, even if it is their error - is not what ANYONE wants right now !
