Crooked customers

Hi! Has anyone been having the same problem where customers try to cheat you? I have been having a lot of situations where the customer states that they are paying with check or money order and then I never get the check or money order. Then, they ask me if I sent out the order and I tell them no because I never received their check and then they try to say that they paid via Paypal when they didn't. Another situation was where a customer paid with a credit card so I sent out the order which was returned saying that it was the wrong address. I email the customer to explain the situation and she writes back that it was indeed the correct address and gives me a negative.So, I go to cancel the payment on the credit card and find that there is nothing to cancel as there isn't even a transaction showing for that date. What is going on?

Sorry to hear what you went through........I agree that do not send out anything without getting the payment. if the customers are sincere about getting the item, they will pay first. That's me 2 cents.

Just the crooks figuring out a new venue, just stay on the ball and you'll be fine.

That is smart not to send until the check has cleared, money order is cashed or payment is in hand or bank account. Just like a normal website, you wont get product unless you have indeed paid.

As far as the credit cards go. I dont even ship until after that 3 days has cleared just to be sure everything has gone through okay.

Did you ask Etsy about the transaction disappearing?? THAT sounds very weird and I have never had anything like that with as many CC payments as I take now.

The negative was uncalled for and something that can really hurt your shop. You can leave feedback on her still cant you? I would explain the situation but the only thing I dont like about the feedbacks is that if it is bogus feedback, theres no spot to defend yourself or give a counter statement. Its just there. Im sure the kiss and makeup wouldnt work on her either which is sad. Maybe Etsy can do something about that, because your numbers are so important on here.

there is always a bad egg in the bunch.
you might be able to talk to etsy about getting that neg taken off. since there wasn't even a transaction in the end. so the neg is really not justified. def ask support about it.
mainly the customers here are great. ;)
