Critique on photo selection is needed

Hello!

I started adding headbands and clips to my shop of necklaces and I wanted to get the opinions of others as to whether you prefer photos that show the headbands/clips on a person/child or if its fine to just have them displayed along a background? I am willing to add model photos to all my hair accessories if the majority consensus is that they like to see them on, but I figured I'd as everyone what they thought... I already have an example in my shop. This is my newest item and I have photos of the clip on and off:

This is different to the rest of my hair accessories which do NOT display a model wearing it. Please give me some feedback as to which photo selections are best.

Just my personal opinion here, I like the listing the way you have it -- with pictures of both. There is a nice clear picture of the bow itself and an adorable one of it on the little girl. I might move the picture of it on to the first slot and let them click on the close ups instead of the other way around like it is now.

Just my two cents and please understand I am not in this market either, just my personal preference. Good luck!

I also prefer both. It's nice to see just the product and it's also great to see it on a model to see the size, etc. Your pictures of the bow on the child are a bit fuzzy though. Maybe sharpen those up a bit. :) But looking good!

I agree, keep both. When I personally search for things, I also like to see how things look when they are being used as well as what they look like by themselves.

Dear lilmissthriftydesign,

I am quite new here, I sell headbands in my shop too, and just like you i have wondered if it will be better to show them on a model, if I would attract more views doing it, and have more sales.
Since my pieces are ooak, I been advised not to put them on any real person because of hygiene issues. So I opted for displaying only pictures of the actual item.
If you are using your picture as a sample, i think you might consider getting someone to model them for you; but if they are- like mine- one of a kind, you will be better just showing the actual product.

I took some suggestions and I made the main photo, the close up of the model wearing the hair clip... Thank you Phaness for adding me to your circle!! How did you get so many circles?? I'm still a little confused about that topic!
Phaness, I also plan on having the model keep the hair pieces and I'll make replicas for the buyer :)

I added both of you to my circle. What I know about circles, you want a variety of sellers. Remember, etsy sellers are also etsy shoppers. Think about someone who sells ceramics, may have a little girl that your headband would be perfect for. So if that person is in your circle they are going to see your items and then become a buyer.
