Critique my hats

I have hats posted to my shop and while I have sold some I don't seem to sell many. Can anyone help with what I can do to improve. This might help with my headbands as well. I have no problem selling my Aprons. Any help?

Re: Critique my hats

Maybe you should try takeing pictures of your hats outside ''in the sunlight'', other wise they look fine to me :)

Re: Critique my hats

I agree with Fate. This is your main photo on this item. I can't see the hat at all because it blends in with the black background.

I will try that, thanks. I didn't even think about this one.

Re: Critique my hats

Also try changing whatever you're using as a form. Check Michaels, JoAnns, even WalMart for one of those styrofoam balls or anything nice and round. You want your hat to have to stretch just bit on it so their are no lumps or misshapen spots in the picture. Crochet hats are 99% of what I sell, take a look at some of my photos to get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Also your item descriptions are pretty vague. You may want to include some more information about shipment, turnaround, fiber content, etc.

Also your tags and titles could use a little work. Try incorporating phrases like, "baby girl hat", "crochet baby hat," "crochet photography prop," "newborn baby hat." Use those types of phrases along with one-word descriptors in your tags and incorporate some in your titles.
Good luck!

Re: Critique my hats

I agree with the excellent advice shared above.

I would also add, in terms of images, that along with photographing in the sunlight if you could perhaps have a child (or adult) wearing the hat that fits their age group it would be a big visual help.

If not, as suggested, perhaps a better display frame to show proper details of your hats :)

Re: Critique my hats

I agree, your pics are really holding you back. Crochet hats are pretty popular on Etsy. You really have to make your items shine to stand out. This is a cute hat but I can barely make it out in the thumbnail.

Re: Critique my hats

And IMO, you should double your prices. I can buy a knit hat at Walmart for $10. Don't cheapen your work by under pricing your items.
