Creative "extras"

I've heard a lot of other sellers talk about putting "creative extras" in their packages when they ship to customers. I've mostly sold digital graphic designs on Etsy and have recently begun to branch out into printed items like favor tags and invitations that I have to ship. I feel like my packages are blah and would love to make them a bit more interesting/promotional.

I'm curious and looking for suggestions. Do you add any "creative extras" when you mail out orders? If so, what do you include?

Re: Creative "extras"

I take a lot of pictures when we are traveling/off roading. I created moo post cards from many of those photos and include them as my "gift." I posted about it on my blog, but don't want to leave the link here since I don't want to spam your thread/topic.

Re: Creative "extras"

I include a handmade magnet, handwritten thank you note (I get them on clearance at Michaels for about 50-60 cents for 10), and I wrap their items in tissue. I never pay ful price for any of the supplies, though! I also use recycled boxes and the customers never seem to notice ! I have also included gift tags and stickers, but they really seem to like the magnets.

Re: Creative "extras"

Sometimes I include a sample of one of my other decadent treats. But I always include a hand written thank you note.

I put in a hand written thank you note as well. I think it adds an extra touch. I also include a gift bag that can be reused (ie I don't write anything on it).

I always appreciate getting the notes in the purchases I make on etsy.

I wouldn't put in too much in the package because if people can't use your 'extra' it just gets thrown away.

Re: Creative "extras"

The majority of what I've sold has been boxes which aren't the easiest to "dress up." So what I've started doing is using one of the boxes the customer orders to hold a small 3"x5" notebook that I make from the chipboard scraps that are from making the boxes. I add tissue paper and ribbon (in the green that is in my banner and cards) and make it look like a gift, instead of a boring box.

I also include a handwritten thank you, which I write on one of the note cards that I sell, and my business card with a coupon code. Most everything has my custom stamp on it.

I'm trying to create that "opening experience," but I haven't had many sales so I can't yet tell if it's working. I hope that it is, but if it isn't I hope that the customer at least recycles what I send them.

Re: Creative "extras"

I include one of my business cards and I write a not on the back saying they can use a coupon code for 10% off their next purchase.

I'm currently shopping for a button maker, because I want to make buttons and I think those would be cute to ship with the plush!

I'm making clothes , so when I ship i include card with promo photo of item from my collection and write by hand my thank you note .
I have as well a pack of small promo posters ( again with beautifull photography of items from collections ) so I include on of those and always make nice tissue wrapping inside of the box .
