Creating a coupon code - requirements?

I just created a code code - it asked for a name of the code and percentage off or free shipping - okay, self explanatory. then asked if this code was active or inactive.
Okay. But when you look at the box of ALL your store coupon codes there's a column called REQUIREMENTS and no explanation of what that is - can anyone tell me what means?

If you had chosen free shipping, the requirements would be "domestic only" or "international." That's as much as I can figure out.

Oh, okay. I didn't pick free shipping. I set the coupon for 10 % off, so I guess that's there's nothing under requirements. Thanks
