Create more or promote current inventory?

Hi everyone,

I tried to find an existing thread re this topic, but couldn't so here goes:

I've got a decent amount of inventory currently for sale that I really want to promote and increase visibility and subsequently sales.

I also have so many ideas for new items, and am sooo anxious to create!

I can only focus on either thing after work or on weekends, so it may be one or the other at a given time.

Which would you focus on? Should I create a schedule and give myself a creative allowance?

Any input is welcome!

The marketing & promoting end of shop ownership is 'work' for me - so I try to keep it balanced. I do the majority of my promoting before work in the mornings, and right before bed - and spend my evenings after work creating custom orders or playing with new designs if custom orders are all on schedule. It's a schedule that has worked well for me - keeps me motivated to get ''the work' done so my fingers have time to Play !

yeah, maybe there are set days/times that you promote and set days that you create. i'm trying to get on some type of routine myself. sometimes i think it's better to create more, because w/out enough creating, there's nothing to promote! :)

You want to do both.
Introducing new inventory and promoting your shop are both essential for having a successful business.

I agree - both. Plus, creating new is inspirational for you and will help keep you going through the hard work.

I'd have to agree! You need to strike a comfortable balance in doing both! For many of us styles and colors change all the time!

I totally get it.
I'm always in this funk, that's why I take about 2 hours a day, three times a week to promote. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on my creative juices!
You sort of have to make time.

For my shop I try to keep an eye out for marketing opportunities, but until I reach the number of items I'd like to have in my shop I'm putting my focus into creating more . My two cents!

P.S. I'm hoping to get to 100 and I see you already have more than that, so perhaps a balance between the 2 as other have suggested.

do the easy promoting. fb. wanelo, pinterest. Takes no time.

it doesnt have to be either/or

listing something every day is the best promotion
