Craft Fair Tips

I am prepping my shop for a craft fair in May (I was too late to join any craft fairs this year). Any tips from those of you that have participated in craft fairs? This will be my first craft fair, any advice is welcomed!
Thank you!

Re: Craft Fair Tips

Hi Krystina!

I did my first craft fair this past September and it was a blast! It looks like we have some similar items! Some tips for you -

1) Plan out your booth/space/table beforehand...I literally set up the whole thing in my basement so I knew what it would look like and didn't have to problem solve last minute needs the day of.
2) Make sure your booth/space/table is decorated nicely and reflects the theme/style of your shop. I had a lot of people stop just to comment on my decor and setup, and then they came in to check out my cards and designs based on that.
3) Arrive early with plenty of time to set up!
4) Bring snacks and water!! I was so busy I barely had time to leave to go to the bathroom, never mind go get lunch!
5) I also ran out of business cards, so make sure you have lots of these! People may not want to buy from you the day of but might want to visit your shop in future.
6) Make sure you have an option for people to pay with something other than cash. Most vendors use Square. I was actually at a craft show today and I almost didn't buy an item because I didn't have enough cash on me and the vendor wouldn't accept credit cards...luckily a friend lent me some cash but I would have walked away if she hadn't!

Hope this helps!

Re: Craft Fair Tips

Tania,

Thank you so much for the tips! I love the idea of planning out the space, I would have never thought of that.

Thank you!
