Convo but no feedback

When someone sends you a super nice convo about your work but doesn't leave feedback, do you ever reply back with a "thank you" and I should would appreciate it if you'd leave positive feedback or do you just forget it and go on?

I don't ever ask them to leave feedback, but I have definitely been tempted.

Do NOT ask, that is spam, and it isn't not OK. I think a lot of us have the eBay mentality that FB is important and up here on Etsy it just isn't. People who don't buy much on Etsy don't even know it exists, and regulars would rather buy based on the photos, the descriptions, and pure gut instinct on if they want it or not.

Do not worry over FB.

When I first started, I think I did ask a few times. But now, I'm not sure about that approach. It might be a turn off for me as a customer, but I'd also understand the request, because I'm a seller.

If you send a thank you note with your packages, or a shipping notification, it might be a good way to add in the request. I don't always do it, but sometimes I do. I've actually gotten some feedback months after a sale, and I think that is due to the Etsy reminder. It might be worth the wait.

I'd be interested to hear from others.

I haven't asked, the few times that I got feedback over conco. I simply thanked them for letting me know and stated I was happy they liked the item.

I don't want them to think i only care about the feedback to raise my fb number.

I don't ask for feedback, I thank them for letting me know they're happy and they received the package. Feedback on your profile is less important than repeat customers!

Just don't ask ever. A certain percentage of buyers just don't leave feedback. Focus on your art, not whether someone leaves you FB.

I request they leave feedback in the message that shows up when they purchase the item and the email they get when the item ships, but I wouldn't directly ask them to leave you feedback.

I think it means more when I get a convo or an email. I know then that the customer wrote specifically because s/he wanted to tell me how much she loved the item. It had nothing to do with a reminder. In most cases, it's email sent to my email addy on their receipt. That also tells me that they may not have even logged into Etsy since the purchase.

I reply back with "Thank you, I'm thrilled you loved the <item>, and I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know." I don't mention feedback at all. Though I will say that the customers who've sent me photos of them dancing in my costumes get a coupon code...just because it makes me unbelievably happy to see my work on stage. :)

I always ask for feedback (I have another Etsy shop as well), but do so in my "thanks for ordering" email. But make sure you slant it as a positive to the customer... something to the effect of, "I would appreciate you leaving positive feedback for me on Etsy. If for any reason you wouldn't leave positive feedback, please let me know what I can do to fix the situation." I once had a customer reply and say, "You know, it wasn't a big deal, and I wasn't going to say anything, but <issue>." I fixed it; she left glowing feedback, AND gave me referral business.

That being said, I would never email/convo someone to ONLY ask for feedback. I only incorporate it into conversations and it's proven beneficial to me.

I had one customer who emailed me to tell me how supremely happy she was with both the product and level of customer service received. She didn't leave any 'official' feedback, but it was ok, because *I* knew how happy she was. It inspired me even more to make sure that every customer I have is that satisfied.

I would ask. She might not leave any feedback but it never hurts to ask for one :-)

I got an awesome convo, no feedback, didn't ask because I'm at 100% anyway, and it made me happy just as it was :)

I don't ask for feedback. Except in my policies under additional info. other than that I wouldn't ask. But some of the answer here are interesting. Something to think about.

I often include a very appreciative thank you note with the words "positive feed back would be greatly appreciated" some where in it!! I will Usually in a very polite way work the words in there ONCE and only ONCE some where within the service I have provided as I DO like to have feedback. I know when I buy something I ALWAYS look for the sellers feedback to see what has been said about them. So I usually like to received it. But never be pushy about it. And I make sure that the customer is satisfied with their purchase also so that they don't leave me negative feed back.
