Re: Confused about pricing ...

do what you feel is right for you and your shop. if you are making the money you want, leave them. alone. they don't seem way too low, maybe a tad low on some of the items. it's not so bad though.

Re: Confused about pricing ...

If you raise the price, you will not be happy about it. Thinking its too high which may deter sales. And if you don't up the prices which folks thought you should, you second guess yourself. That's not a good place to bet at. I feel your pain.

Only you know how much time you spent on each items. How much you want to pay yourself. I am not saying anything about cost because we all, jewelry artisan know cost of our supplies. Some artisans think, this only cost $1, so I just price it... say $3. Folks are not only paying for supplies they are paying for our passion, vision, creativity... all those abstract things which are priceless :-). Think bringing value. Bringing beauty into their lives. Fashion. Style.

Etsy and PayPal will take their cuts too.

So you are the best judge. Don't go pulling out your hair if I say some of your bracelets seem a bit low to me :-)

Re: Confused about pricing ...

Kriya has the right of it!

Here's a paraphrasing of some good advice I got when I started out selling stuff years ago (when Etsy wasn't even a twinkle in the internet's eye--heck--we were all still on dial-up)

Come up with a formula that covers cost of materials and don't forget to pay yourself for your time. And that's not just time spent crafting the article--there's the time you spend shopping for supplies...gas or shipping on supplies you purchase...etc. And pay yourself reasonably well. What you do takes some skill and took some time to learn.

(I pay myself $20/hour...and that's probably low.)

Re: Confused about pricing ...

I'm going to go against the grain and say your prices are a bit low. I would think you work harder than 8 American Dollars to make this bracelet (at a wage of $20/hour).

As long as you aren't selling yourself too short you're fine.

Re: Confused about pricing ...

Your prices are cheap girl!

Make sure you keep track of material costs for each item, and the time you spent to make it. Make sure you pay yourself a decent hourly wage!

I'm with the they're too low crowd. Do some real analysis of the cost of your materials and time.

Re: Confused about pricing ...

If you bump your prices up slightly, that could give you some room to do some coupons and promoting. I find I get action on a coupon for 20% off on repeat purchases.
