What tips do you have on conducting a successful blog interview? I hope to start doing interviews on my blog: givethemcolor.blogspot.com. But I'm not quite sure how to make the interview engaging and worthwhile. Do you have any ideas? Thanks, Deborah
As a reader, I like when the person being interviewed answers off the wall questions, not necessarily related to the shop/product/promotion. It makes the interviews more entertaining. A little nonsense now and then is pleasant.
I would just echo what Jeni said. Throw in some entertainment to keep your readers engaged. Also pictures, people love pictures. When I'm skimming through the front page looking for blogs to read, I hardly ever click on the ones with no pictures.
I also like reading interviews with questions more about the artist's life and inspiration and not necessarily promoting their stuff. Kind of counter-intuitively it makes me more likely to check out their work than someone who talks solely about selling and their shop!
