Re: Combining lines

Hi Rochelle, cute shop. I'm actually in the process of seperating my line. This shop for my map jewelry and homewares and the new one http://etsy.com/shop/sosherry for my other work.

I like an uncluttered shop. You can use lots of backlinks to tell people about your other store.

I'm sure you will get lots of different opinions, but in the time I've been here, I've seen lots of successful people seperate shops.

In the end, just do what works best for you.

Re: Combining lines

budsnbugs,
I just took a look at your shop, and think that it looks cohesive as is. The style and fabrics that you use in the women's and children's items look very similar. Maybe one thing that you could do is separate out your sections something like this:
CHILDREN'S Dresses
CHILDREN'S Pants
CHILDREN'S Skirts
CHILDREN'S Tops
CHILDREN'S Pajamas & Bathrobes
WOMEN'S Aprons
WOMEN'S Dresses
WOMEN'S Skirts
And then rearrange your shop to group all kid stuff together and all women's stuff together. I think there could be some women who visit your shop to buy for kids, and end up also buying for themselves, or visit to buy for themselves and end up buying for their kids.
But, I also think it looks great just as is. Just thought I'd give you some suggestions to make it look even more cohesive without having to open a separate shop.

Good luck!

Re: Combining lines

Ooops. I think I misread your post. Are you thinking about combining shops? I could only find one shop to look at. I think I'd have to see the other shop before commenting on whether they'd make one cohesive shop together. Sorry about my post above!
