Clothing orders: Make before or after

Im new to this and I just wanted to know what people do when selling clothing on Etsy? Are the items already made before you list them or do you make them when the order comes in?

Re: Clothing orders: Make before or after

I make an item and list it so customers can see what the finished piece looks like to some extent. To accommodate the variations in beads, however, I make jewelry to order. Good luck!

Re: Clothing orders: Make before or after

I make to order. I didn't start of that way, but found with individual pieces, people always wanted a different size, or I'd have random stock left that I couldn't sell. Switched to made to order and it was way better. I just make sure my sample one I photograph is the most popular size and then I know it'll probably get bought and therefore not wasted!

Re: Clothing orders: Make before or after

Hi Cheryl
I Found that people like to have the choice of many styles ,made to order and ready to ship because they want to have it faster
Some piece are more complicated to make and the fabrics is more expensive so it is better to make them to order
other style and fabric are less expensive and take less time to make and it is also very fun to sell something already made in my case ; like sample ,sale and trying new style
So i make a little bit of both it is working better for me because sometime it is challenging and also very fun with alot of visibility
that working better like this for me love it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
thank you to ETSY i am grateful that i found a place i can express my creativity
best luck to you and your prosperous and fun future
