Choosing Featured Items

How do you personally decide which items to put in your featured items?

The most popular? The oldest? The most expensive?

I try to feature ones that have a different look and style in relation to each other. This helps show off the range of style and technique in your pieces.

I always pick my favourite out of the different categories I have. For example, right now I have a miniature gnome, a peg doll, a miniature clay village and an illustration.

Try to show off the most appealing stuff of your shop, and also pick different things so that clients get a sense of diversity.

I change my featured items fairly often. Would it be smarter to pick some and stick with them for a while?

I think that would depend. I don't change my featured items very much, but I think it might be a good idea to do so. I tend to feature items that aren't selling, in hopes that someone will buy them. That hasn't worked, so I'm going to try featuring different items every week from now on. I know that craft stores - and I'm thinking specifically of Hobby Lobby - have weekly sales, and the flyer shows different items in each category every week.

It seems to me the best to the best selling items to use for this . I want from time to time to change my featered items but everytime i do that I am having a total loss of my sale's .
