There's a Groupon offer right now for a 15-lb digital scale for half price ($24). If there's anyone who's still going to the post office to get their weighing done, this might be a good option.

I got a 50lb one off Ebay for $18. Those are way prettier than my black and gray one though.

Walmart carries a postal scale for $20 on a regular basis if anyone misses this groupon. It's where they have bubble wrap and shipping supplies :)

I just use a food scale I got from bed bath and beyond for about $10. works quite well if you don't sell anything over a couple pounds...

Yeah, it is a pretty scale. Mine I got from eBay, in a lot of three. They were filthy, and looked like they had been used to weigh car parts. But the price was right, so there's something to say for that. And they're vintage, so they stand half a chance of lasting.

I found a terrifc scale at a grocery business that was closing. It will weigh anything I need to weigh, even heavy soap oils that I use in production. You could check local listings, Craig's list or auction sites.

sometimes you can find free shipping supplies like bubble wrap and packing peanuts that people are giving away! mainly you just need to go pick them up.

We have a local guy who offers packing peanuts on Craigslist regularly. I've also posted on my personal Facebook page that I'll gladly take people's packing materials. I never have to buy anything other than packing tape.
