Changing my shop name...what to be aware of?

I want to change my shop name. I went with the easy option when I opened my shop a year ago and just used my own name. I would like to change it to something more findable......who and what on earth is Jan Vallance? Is there anything I should do after I have done it. Is it ok to let past customers know by convo or email or would that be frowned upon. I have an order that I am in the process of finishing...will it affect this? I have checked that the name I have chosen is not being actively used, but am aware that it could still not be available and I won't find out until I actually try it. Cheers....Jan

I've done it......don't know why I was so nervous. I'm now trading as The Art Boat. In real life from my narrowboat (well nearly) as well as on Etsy...really excited about this new venture

I was debating my name change and decided to just go for it as well! I didn’t notice any issues as Etsy will still link your old account and my sales actual improved. I had to decide on name for my long term goals not just Etsy so I am glad I made the choice and I wish you the best of luck!

Hi Amanda....Yes I've been keeping my head down and getting on with these sheep...Just over two months to go! I've dithered over a name for the past year. In the end it was so easy. It's a trend in the trading narrowboats to call them what they are...the cheese boat, the coal boat, the wool boat etc. I just joined the band-waggon. It already feels like the right choice.
