I am trying to change things up a little in my shop, I have been adding lots of new things, looking into SEO, changing shipping costs etc, and I have a question about categories.

I sell vintage homewares....would you prefer categories that describe what an item is i.e kitchenware or would you prefer categories by price i.e. under £10 under £20 etc?

Your help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Categories

I would create categories using the products customers are searching for - vintage platters, transferware, castiron....customers can choose a price range once their search has brought them to a page(s) of products to view.

Re: Categories

I would prefer a description of what is in the category- I rarely go browsing for something that is below a certain price. I find it a little annoying when I visit a shop that restricts categories to prices- I just use the search then instead.
However, for the holiday season, Christmas and Thanksgiving, some people might prefer to shop in accordance with their budget.

Re: Categories

I agree, categories are more helpful especially if you sell quite a wide range of items.
