Can an art gallery curator open an Etsy shop for art that hasn't sold in her shop?

Hi there. A friend of mine was thinking about listing art from her gallery on Etsy. The art is curated by her, and made by several artisans in her community. Would this be an acceptable Etsy shop under the new guidelines?

Thanks much!

You'll have to ask Etsy directly (you'll get all kinds of opinions from us).

I know that there have been galleries selling on Etsy for a long time, even though officially they couldn't. I bet they can now. Etsy will find some way of defining 'handmade ownership' for the gallery owner.

As far as I understand it, no. Etsy's TOU used to state, anyway, that you could not resell a handmade item you had not made.

Possibly if all the artisons became members of her shop. At least that's my understanding of the new terms.

I concur with Beth - I believe each artist would need to be members of the shop, if their art is for sale. That is how I interpret the new guidelines at least.
