Can I get some feedback please?

I've just listed three pairs of earrings and I'm not sure the photography is all that good, does anyone have any suggestions for improvement?

Thanks so much!!

Your earrings are great! I think the red ones and the pink ones really jump out at you , but the green ones seem to fade away a little since they are sorta the same color as the dish. Maybe a different colored dish would show the green ones off a little better....but I wouldn't change a thing for the other ones.

Great job!

Re: Can I get some feedback please?

Do you use a photo-editing programme? I think you should try to brighten the pictures a bit, and edit out the black in the background. I also agree with TheBathFactory, the green ones don't stand out against the glass.

Maybe you can try hanging them on a branch outside, if that's possible: The background would be blurrier because it's more distant, plus it might also be darker. Of course, then you might want to do this for all of them. In that case, perhaps just a different colour dish?

I don't know how I feel about them against the centre of the dish either. It might be that it's too close to the texture of the dish, I'm not really sure....

On the other hand, you have decent lighting (great white balance!) and nice, clear, clean shots, which is a lot better than many I've seen (some, I admit, I might've put up myself). Overall, I think you have the hang of it, and it'sjust small tweaks here and there (like brightening them).

Here's an example of what I mean about image editing (top is before, bottom is after):

Thank you for the great compliments TheBathFactory, much appreciated!

Great feedback misscoconut, would suggest any software (preferably freeware!) for photoediting, thanks a million :)

I hear GIMP is really good. I've never used it myself, but it's popular and you can find tutorials for it. I use Photoshop, and I hear they're similar.

First, let me say that I think your earrings are really cute, and the pictures look fine.

But one thing I've learned is that people shopping for something specific browse through tons of listings, and you only have a thumbnail photo to catch their attention and draw them to your site. Keeping that in mind, pictures that are simple, vibrant, and close up tend to work best because the product is easier to see, and therefore more eye-catching. Browse through any section you'd like and you'll see what I'm talking about

Can you take a close-up shot of the earrings (or even just one) against a plain dark or light background? You can still use the pictures you have in the remaining slots - but by changing that first photo might prove helpful
