Can I get a design critique?

I make handbound leather journals. I have one journal in particular that has super low views and am wondering if it is a bad design or a bad color or...?

http://www.etsy.com/listing/80956981/lavender-leather-journal

I have 40 more bound journals awaiting me to finish off their covers and I am wondering if I should include this design and try it out in my different colors of leather or abandon unloved design. I have an alternate styling of this cover design on this journal here that's done a bit better in attracting views: http://www.etsy.com/listing/80549171/water-wave-leather-journal-sketchbook

What say you? Shall I keep the design or bag it?

If I should abandon it, what's wrong with it? I'd like to learn from this!

Thanks so much,
Andrea

Re: Can I get a design critique?

I think it's probably your titles, not the design. Try adding Sketchbook to your lavender journal, and moving the word Lavender to the end of the title, like Leather Sketchbook Journal in Lavender. That might help increase your search exposure.

Re: Can I get a design critique?

Hah the funniest thing is that the first journal is sooo beautiful! I instantly thought "wow I need that!" The colour is darling!

However, DaintyChain is right. Your title is three words. I had trouble editing my titles because I started to feel like I was selling on ebay instead of Etsy, but the more words in your title the more likely it is to be seen. You've used all your tags, the picture is perfect (it's one of the few times that a non-plain white background works), so you really only need to think about the titles. Try adding "handbound" in the title somewhere, along with perhaps some of your keywords and the size of the journal, or the number of pages (personally I'd choose one or the other of the last two). But remember that the first 3 words are the ones that determine where it is in the relevancy search so expand your title, then work in rearranging the words (don't try to expand your title and rearrange it at the same time, or youmight miss something).

Re: Can I get a design critique?

The only thing I can add to the great comments above is maybe adding the colour to your tags, because a lot of ppl shop by colour :)
