CIJ this year!

Hi!

Just wondering what everyone is planning on doing in their shops this year for Christmas in July!

Last year July was my best month of the year, so I'm hoping this year will be even better! Since I didn't have many items, though, I manually marked down every listing. Definitely don't have the time to do that this year! So I am considering using Etsy on Sale but I'm not sure if it's worth it!!

What are your plans?! :)

Me and a group of other small business' are holding a "Christmas In July" event on Facebook - Kinda like a market night.
We've had great success with these in the past so hoping it's the same this time around!

I am participating this year! I just re-opened almost after 2 years, my last CIJ sale event was in 2011, it went well so I am hoping for the best this time:)....and I really need some sales to come back!!
I have used Etsy on sale before, it is really wonderful and easy, If someone wants a referral code for free credits convo me.

I still can't decide what I want to do for my shop though!! I'm pretty sure I'm going to use etsy on sale though!

i will definitely start renewing my christmas items in july, i´m still debating with myself if i´m going to have a sale or not

For those of you that have used etsy on sale - can you do different promos for different sections of your shop? For example could I make all of my bodysuits a flat $15 (in my "children's clothing" section) and then reduce all my art prints by 30% in all the other secions?

Who knew there was a CIJ team?! I just joined and will be running some kind of sale via Etsy on Sale during the designated dates (7/10 - 7/20). Thanks for sharing!

Maria,

you can use the EtsyonSale tool to set up different sales percentages for each section in your shop.

EtsyOnsale is a tool for sellers that can be used for adjusting prices and titles when they are having a sale.

You can find it (along with many other 3rd party apps) at

Once you've decided what the discount should be, you simply tell EtsyOnSale and the changes will be made at the time you've scheduled your sale to start.

And the great thing is, it will change everything back once the sale is over as well.

I use BETSI for any sales that I have.

I'm not sure if I'm going to do CIJ this year. I tried last year and I really didn't see much, but I think it was more attributed to my participation in it. I wasn't able to do as much promotion as I would have liked to. I think the more you are participating in the sales, the other promotional tools out there, the better you will have success at it.

I'm definitely taking part, I'm planning on using etsy sale to create my sale. Not reducing everything but will be offering fairly large discounts on my larger items, and I may include some smaller items that aren't getting much interest, and will also be including some new wintery accessories that I'm just making now! Looking forward to it :)

Thanks everyone!! I just decided to do a storewide markdown during the actual CIJ dates of July 10-20. But I may also end up adding a coupon code for free shipping on orders over $50 or something like that.

Now my goal is to get a few new bodysuits listed including a few holiday ones?? I have so many ideas but I need about 10 more hours in every day!!
