Buys an item, then account gets deleted?

I just had a sale to someone a few minutes ago, who then marked payment as 'other' when I only accept paypal (I am working out a trade with someone else at the moment, which is why I have 'other' as an option) and when I went to their profile to contact them, the user does not exist.

Oh.

Did the buyer just buy it then run without paying? Does this mean that I've just had to pay listing fees and transaction fees for a sale that will never come through? I have no idea what to do.

First the stolen images, now this -_- Today is really not my day.

I think you can cancel the sale and Etsy will not charge you.

I've had a sale once where the buyer had had so many problems on Etsy that they ended up being banned for life from Etsy shortly after buying from me. They'd paid though because I only accept Paypal and in the end they got their order and liked it. But for a while I was very worried about that transaction.
Coudln't you contact support and ask them to refund the fees if the transaction doesn't come through ?

I'd cancel the sale. Did anything happen after they clicked other? Like they contacted you with info on how they plan to pay? If they deleted their account, you can't be expected to contact them about the transaction. If they really want to buy the item, they can do it via PayPal.

I've cancelled the transaction..But I don't know if I can get the fees refunded and the listing back up. I don't like having an item in my 'sold' section that I haven't actually sold and revenue that I haven't received :/
Oh well, I'll contact support and see if there's anything that can be done

As long as you have canceled the order. Etsy will send you an email stating the order was canceled. Etsy will refund the fees but it takes a few days. You can look under your sold items and just hit the renew sold and it will re-list for you.
