Bridesmaids question

I need help from those of you who are more familiar than me with the US wedding customs. I want to offer bridesmaid sets of jewelry pieces but I have no idea what is usually considered an average number of bridesmaids. Here in Europe it is usually 2 but I've seen many listing that offer 5 or 6 pieces. What do you think is a good number ? Thanks !

Re: Bridesmaids question

From what I have experienced 3-5 is probably the norm. I wouldn't do less than 3 and I wouldn't go above 6. You may want to offer a couple different listings with different options!

Re: Bridesmaids question

I agree with Mike and Mollie. I have been in 3 weddings and they each had 3-5 bridesmaids.

Ive been in 1 weddings and attended 3. All of them had 3-6 bridesmaids. you can always list in the item description that you can make extras if there are more bridesmaids.

Re: Bridesmaids question

Yes, 3-6 seems the average here. I'm having three at my wedding this summer. Perhaps you could just update the quantity. List as many as you have and the buyer will be able to choose quantity from the drop down menu during purchase.

Re: Bridesmaids question

I do bridal clutches in my purse shop, and I've probably done more sets of five and six than any other number. I personally don't know that many people to have stand up for me at a wedding. :D

That being said, I offer sets in number from 3 to 6, with notes in each one that if they want more than six, to please contact me so I can sort that out. I did a wedding last year with 12 bridesmaids and 3 flower girls. O_O All I can assume is that either she was really popular or she had a HUUUUUGE family and everyone had to be included.

Re: Bridesmaids question

I must be in the minority. I only had two - my sister and my best friend!

Re: Bridesmaids question

For me, I'm only having two but my best friend has seven! So I would start with the 3-6 everyone else has suggested and just mention you can easily set up a different number for the customer.

Re: Bridesmaids question

I'm getting married in September and am going to be having 5 Bridesmaids!!

On a side note: I have sold my wine glasses to brides for bridesmaid gifts before and some brides have like 8+ Bridesmaids and some only have like 2.

I would do a listing for 2, 4, and 6 <- Most brides like having an even number so they are in the middle when photos are taken. (My fiance didnt want more than 5 and we couldnt cut it to 4

Just a thought :)

Re: Bridesmaids question

Yes, and I know of brides who also like giving jewelry to other special women ( grooms sister, mother, etc.) who aren't a bridesmaid but still part of the wedding.
