I've never done bridal shows, or shows for my own company. but I have been working for a software company that specializes in software for textile artist and we do many many trade shows - Sewing shows, knitting shows, beading shows. Several big things that I have learned.
- Have a banner - that not only has your name but your statement - a few words that set you apart.
- Try to have Stand up posters of images of your products sized up - so they can be visible from the other side of the isle. Use lots of color!
- Display as much of your product as possible, but don't make it to crowded.
- If you are selling something people will wear - have a mirror, small hand held for jewelry - large stand up for everything else - even purses.
- Don't - Don't sit at the back of your booth, Stand at the middle or off to one side, make yourself always available - and don't look like you are bored. If you must sit bring a stool, and put it somewhere towards the front of the booth.
- Always Always have a paper they can walk away with, flyers, product sheets, something in addition to your business cards.
--- Most of this costs money - but if you are going to invest on paying for a booth - you should first invest in making sure you are as prepared as possible.
What in particular did you learn?
