Blog Followers How To?

I've had my blog going for a while now and am not sure what to do to gain followers. Currently the about 10 followers I do have are return followers from etsy or other blogs. What's the best way you have found to get any followers as well as followers who are actually interested in your blog content?

I would say the easiest and best way to increase followers is just to participate on other blogs. This means leaving comments, adding new people, sending e-mails, even guest posting. That is the best way I've found.

I've been running my blog at http://www.anepicliz.com for going on two years, and have just over 30 followers. It takes time, but it's worth it!

Yes, I agree... the more you leave comments for others, the more visit you. Thoughtful comments catch people's attention who then click on your name to see who you are.... not the quick, 'nice blog, come n see me' type. Start with looking at your followers profiles & see which blogs they like.

I'd much rather have a slower growth of people who are really interested than a quick flurry of people who never come back again. I'm at suziscribbles.com, my calligraphy blog... my photographic one has been sadly neglected of late!

Networking is definitely your best bet, imo. Follow some blogs you're interested in reading and comment, comment, comment. Engage with bloggers on twitter as well. Join some active blog hops - many of them won't bring you any hits, but I participate in a couple of really encouraging, active ones that I love. Reading blogs also brings me ideas for things to post about, and posting regularly and consistently is great for building a readership. I'm at blog.lixhewett.com if you want to take a look. I've been blogging for about a year but switched hostings (from wordpress.com to self-hosted Wordpress) in August. I have 117 followers on Bloglovin' at the moment and a few more dispersed around RSS feed readers. :)
