Biggest day for sales?

I'm wondering what day of the week people see the most sales? Ultimately I am trying to figure out the best day to post new items and I thought the day people are experiencing the most sales are the busiest, am i wrong in thinking this?

For my shop it varies by the season, by the weather, whats on tv, ect. But I have noticed a trend of higher views on Monday but not a lot of sales. Higher sales on Friday but not as many views. Indicating to me that people find what they like in my shop & come back Friday when it's payday to purchase.

Sunday nights specifically, next weekend days, and then fridays!

I guess it depends on what each shop has because I do less views and sales on the weekends than I do during the week. Yesterday was Tuesday..I had more sales than any other day this week and last but I never can keep track of that. Its always different by the week. I see it mainly in seasons. Halloween is my busiest time, and then again during April and may for wedding season.

That would be fun to put up a chart and track it just to see if there is any kind of pattern. May do that in my down time, lol.

I have two shops on etsy and for both I see an increase in sales on the weekends but more views on Mondays. I figure people do a lot of window shopping when they start their workweek. I try to post new items before Thursday.

I wish there was a way to actually KNOW this information, rather than guesstimating! I'm pretty sure I get the most sales on Mondays and Thursdays.

In my other shop, it was usually weeknights but no particular day to be exact. Maybe around the 1st and the 15th of the month...

I find Sundays to be a sale day but I find sales and views run in streaks wth no traceable pattern. Being a costumer, I am heading into my busy season so views and sales have been good.

I don't have any 'best days'.

The days that I add the most items are the days when I generally don't have as many sales.

But if I've not added something for 18 hours or so, I'll generally end up with a sale.

I'd suggest that you simply have great tags and titles and add things whenever you have something ready to list.

I also notice higher views on Mondays, but I sometimes see sales from that. I see most of my sales Thursday to Sunday, though it's not clockwork.

You really can only see this by analyzing when your own past sales happened ... it will be different based on who your target market is.

All of my highest views have happened Sat. afternoons. All four of my sales have happened on Sunday evening.

mine is very erratic, but consistent in it's own little way. As Leanne said I too once every 2 weeks or so will have a big "boom". the ends of the month and beginning are busier too for some reason.
My views and sales are not at all related. similar to other sellers days I post a lot are not necessarily big revenue days.

Like another ES team member posted recently, "If it's not listed, it cant sell" So you shouldn't sit around wating for the perfect time. Throw it out into the universe and see what happens. :)

I've been keeping track of my views/sales on a daily basis for over a year now. It's been fun to assess...I'm trying to double my sales from last year - so I look at everything every few weeks and compare back to last year. I can't say that there is a particularly big sales "day" for me, but I seem to sell more midweek than on the weekend. Of couse, since I sell ornaments, my sales skyrocket in Nov/Dec and slow dramatically in Feb (surprisingly still have sales in Jan with people buying late gifts or buying for the next year!!!)

Oh, I anaylize me views/sales. During my "off" season (most of the year!), I average a sale for about every 100-125 views. During the peak holiday season I can average a sale for about every 50 views (and during that time my views go up 5-fold).

This would be an interesting stat to aggregate. As for me personally, I don't see any pattern :-/

Theres no pattern for me either, the stats chart show a big zig zag line each month for sales. up and down up and down. No sales, then 4 in a day. Thats how it goes for me.

I am tracking my sales every day, so here it is by the actual sales.

Tuesday
Wednesday
Saturday
Monday
Friday
Sunday
Thursday

However, the most VIEWS are coming on Mondays. Also, I have noticed that number of views doesn't correlate with number of sales.
