Best time of day to post/renew an item?

Your art is AMAZING! I'm constantly amazed by the talent here on Etsy. I'm new like you, but so far I've had the most luck with afternoon and evening postings. Best of luck!

check your google analytics and see what the busiest time for your shop is, then renew at that time.

I find it's like playing the lottery. I've tried at the busiest times according to GA, which is sometimes good, sometimes bad...and I've tried at the slowest times (to try to drum up views then) and sometimes that's been successful and sometimes not.

Roll the dice.

Youve got to think, you are showing items to a website that the entire WORLD looks at.

So when its 3pm at youre house it could be 6pm at the house of the person who is viewing your shop.

Or when its 3AM and you renew and item someone could be just getting into work, sitting down looking through Etsy before starting their day.



So I believe listing or renewing at anytime of the day is good enough as long as your items are eye catching and appealing. SOMEONE is bound to see them when you list or renew.

I actually don't like posting a new listing at a popular time. Everytime I do that, the listings don't get updated in Etsy until about a half hour after I post. Then the item is lost on page 27 or so. I like to post at about 11AM Pacific Time.

That's my thoughts on the subject.

Posting during a popular time just gets the item lost in the sea of items.

I have pretty much given up on trying to time the posting of new listings. For a while, I was trying to target 7-10pm Eastern time, reasoning that it would be in the activity window for all the US/Canada continental time zones. I did not find any difference in sales by doing that. So now I just post when it's convenient for my schedule.

I am with foxpots... I was trying to time my postings but then found that I wasn't getting anything up at all. With a ten month old baby I just post when I can!

Makes sense. So far, I post when I can... I have noticed though, that I get a lot of "favorites" during the week, and a couple of them translate into sales over the weekend, so it seems to me like, during the work week, people "like" items, then they go through their favorites list on the weekend, at leisure and buy after thy've had some time to think. Seems to make sense... but this is just an observation from a 3 weekend pattern:) that's how long I've had my shop open to the public.
