Backgrounds for Item Photos

I have been advised that white backgrounds translate to more views and, hopefully, sales.

I am wondering if the pertinent factor is that the background is white as opposed to other solid colors or whether it is that the background is a plain solid color that does not distract the viewer from the product.

Would a solid background of another color work as well?

Re: Backgrounds for Item Photos

Hey there Jean -
It's doesn't necessarily have to be a white background, but a neutral, non-busy background. It can be a light shade of grey, beige, white... just a soft color to make your item pop.
And I think a neutral, solid color for your paintings would do total wonders for your shop, which is very cute BTW.
Good luck!

Very cute shop and a cohesive solid color background does do wonders. I use grey, just a personal thing

Thanks, y'all! i will look for a pale grey, I think. I love grey, always have. I used the black to give an idea of how they'd look matted, but I'll switch over to something softer as I relist things and add new ones.
