Background Advice

So I just listed two items with a white background and I use my photoshop program on them I have more items I have to list , but most of the items are big for me to use with my other background that I have for all other items.

So what do you guys think about this two listing is the background to light ? Any advice about using white background would help.

Thanks.Norma :)

Re: Background Advice

Norma I think the one with the spools is working better than the frame... you are catching a shadow on the one with the frame which is making the photo look darker. Maybe if you reshoot that one with a light source on both sides the shadow won't be as dark

Re: Background Advice

If it was an even white, I think it would look lovely!
Right now the bathroom/kitchen tiles and the paneling sort of distract me.

Have you considered making the backgrounds totally white? I know it takes a lot of time. I should know, my backgrounds are all white. I use Photoshop for it too.

This is my favorite listing with the white background.
I have larger items also but I use muslin drapped over the window as my background and a white table cloth as my base. I shoot with my lense wide open and bounce my flash off the white ceiling in the middle of the day (usually noonish is the best light for the window I use).

Here is an example of a very large beach bag shot as explained above:http://www.etsy.com/listing/100113738/extra-large-beach-bag-oversized-giant

Re: Background Advice

I would crop in closer, I think that would make the tile lines less of a distraction by putting the focus on the subject.
