Artists and Copyrights questions

So, I was approached by a customer to do a personalized painting with the Washington State Huskies logo and colors. I would love to do this, but I have no idea if it is ok. I have seen so many other people on Etsy using team logos and characters from Disney. What are the rules on this? Can I do this painting and not get in trouble? Please please help if you know!

It is against the law, but unfortunately it happens all the time. You are only allowed to recreate licensed work by permission (which requires a hefty fee usually), but this doesn't stop everyone. Definitely tread carefully- it's not worth getting in trouble over something like this (in my opinion).

Jessica is right. The majority of people using Disney or otherwise copyrighted characters and logos are breaking US copyright law. Even using Disney toys or fabric and working it into your own creations is not permitted. I would play it safe and not do it.
