Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes. I have my own personal collection of handmade items that are similar to what I sell. I also have a huge personal supply stash (as well as what's listed for sale on Etsy).

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes! I have to try real hard not to keep what I make. There are a few things I couldn't resist though! I have about 5 or six necklaces I couldn't part with.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Nice question!
When I make new models of bag I usually make the first one for me... so that I can test it! That's what I say to myself... it's just that I like them and I often makes one also for me :)

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes! For my bath and body products. Not so much for the scarves that I was selling. They were fun to make, but I'm not my target market, which is probably why I lost interest in them and have decided to discontinue them.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yep! Very often new designs came from cards that I made for my needs.

I adore handwoven textiles and love to purchase pieces from fellow weavers to add to my ever growing collection.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

I make accessories for men and women, but yes, I would say I am my target market for the majority of my womens accessories - it's easier to design something that you would wear yourself.
I have a hard time parting with most of my hats, as I make mainly OOAK it's hard to see them go!

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

I would say yes and no. I love all the items i make and would buy them for gifts without a doubt. I would purchase some of them for my home - in particluar childrens items for my little girl but i do try and branch out and reach other tastes that aren't my own preference sometimes....

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes.

My target market is the young woman who wants to treat herself or her child to something special while on a tight budget. Or the young woman who needs a gift for someone else that is affordable but high quality. They want something more classic and simple instead of bling-y and showy. I totally started making things with myself in mind. :)

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes. I love hair accessories. When I make something with scrap materials that I am absolutely in love with, I have to fight the urge to keep it for myself, although, I have kept them a time or two. I have my own personal stash of most of my items.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Definitely! I make cards, so I try to use styles and colors that I like, so I often will use them to go with a gift etc.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Most definitely! All of my designs were either gifts I received or gifts I made for others - mostly hostess and baby shower gifts. I have several of my scarves and hats in my own closet right now, and decided that - since I received many compliments on my creations when I wore them - that I would start my own Etsy shop to sell similar things. So I guess you could say that I was my own "test market," as well as being part of my "target market."

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

I am! Except for bracelets. Have neuropathy in my hands and cannot bear to wear anything on my hands or wrists. Haven't had my wedding rings on in 10 years...

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes! My shop can be a tad esoteric and niche. Asides from the handfull of customers who buy a bunch of stuff, I sometimes feel like i might be the only one who gets it all.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes! My jewelry is totally my style. Well most of it anyway. I have kept several pieces that I couldn't part with.

When I first started making jewelry I made a lot of things that I thought were pretty, but wouldn't wear myself just because they weren't me. That didn't last long and my jewelry making style has evolved to match my own personal style. I don't see how it could work any other way for very long.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

No, I'm not.
I never buy handmade, because I can make pretty much everything myself.
Of course I make things for myself too, but that doesn't mean I am in my target market, since I would never buy those things.
Your target market are the people most likely to BUY your products.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

I don't think so. While I like what I make, at least while I'm making it, if I saw these items in a store, I would be more likely to go home and make them rather than buy them.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

No.
I love what I do - otherwise I wouldn't bother, but I couldn't spend the money.
Personally I am more the tiny gold pendant on chain kind of woman anyway.
There are a couple pieces I kept for me and wear for "advertising" when we go out etc, but that is it.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

No. Since I can make my own cards I would never consider buying them. I have bought die cuts off Etsy in the past for my scrapbooking (before I had my own machine) so at one time I was the target market for those. Now that I can do them myself I market them to other scrapbookers and brides.

Re: Are you in your Target Market?

Yes. Even though my items appeal to a wide audience, I have eclectic tastes and moods. I have a huge collection from my Collections!
Most of the time when I wear one of my wearable pieces of art, it sells right off my body!
