Are shop section titles picked up in searches

in any way shape or form? I finally just got around to creating shop titles after 3 months!

Yes they are by search engines. So use all ten of them as each one is a new page, a new url and a new one to be indexed and listed on search engines.

I really wish they gave just a little more space for them...

A lack of space is for a reason, it makes you do short and sweet which is the norm on many websites ie you can't say more than will fit into a url which is effectively all the text that search engines are interested in ie what you can see in Google Preview for any given listing.
