Anybody else having a really odd month?

My views and favourites are up by an insane (for me ;D ) amount since I started tweaking my photos/tags and uploading new products. I was getting traffic of about ten people a day before the start of October (before I finished the literature festival I was working on so I could start promoting) and now I can get about 100 views a day and 15 plus favourites (as opposed to one or two).

(Wierdly, very little of that has come from my search ad campaign. I don't think I'll bother renewing that - has anybody else got any tips for success with search ads? )

Anyway, bottom line is, when I had few visitors in September, I was actually making semi-regular sales, few though they were. Now I have loads of visitors and favourites (which is lovely!) but nothing sales-wise for ages! And I thought people were gearing up for Christmas?

Anybody else finding this month is oddly flat despite increased traffic? Is it just me? Have I done something odd to my store lol?

Oh the traffic is fantastic, I'm lucky and I'm very grateful for the interest from people :D :D makes me feel happy that my crafts are appealing to people! It's just really odd when I had little traffic I actually had sales, and now I have it.... it's gone dead!

Your stuff is so lovely and quirky, I'm sure you'll get a breakthrough soon :D

It's so weird! It's the same with me!
on my first months I had 30-40 hits, and 3-2 favorits a day, and now that I fixed the tags and added more listings I have at least 100-130 hits, and about 15 favorites a day, and fewer sales than before!
Maybe people just looking for things for gifts for the holidays but still not buy them? I so hope it's true, and soon we would have a lot of sales from people who have visited our shops :)

My views have been average this month, and a lot of favourites - again average for me. Search Ads were a dead end. But sales have not been coming. I had lots of sales in Aug and Sept and expected the increasing trend to continue with Xmas coming. Maybe all our favouriters plan to return for their Xmas gifts? I sure hope so!

Not sure what happened this month. I'm baffled.

I wanted to open the same topic ;)

I worked hard on photos, tags and titles and I saw an increasing number of visits. Before I had near 10 visits a day, now it is 30-50 and many favourites (10-15 a day!) but still no sales. So I am asking myself if it was worth to do it all.

The same thing here...making Treasuries, working on exposure, and I've still only had just a few sales since I opened in August. Everytime Etsy.com puts on a 'featured seller' nothing is ever said about 'HOW" they are so successful.''

I've found sales to be much slower than last month, despite more listings.

My mom ran an estate sale a few days ago and only sold $166. I help her with them sometimes, and we usually do about $1500 in one day. People were coming, but they were not buying.

I think we're in a major slump. Some shops are still doing well, but I seriously cannot figure out how.

When you "tweak tags" where do you get the ideas for it? do you search others sites?

Also has anyone had success in BNR's? I've tried it twice with no sales. Are they worth it?? It seems like people only buy from their friends...

Ditto to you all. Tweaked, tags, SEOed, and getting lots of traffic. Just no sales although for me, the holidays don't spark more sales. I also used the ads and out of over 8oo impression, I had 3 (THREE!) views! So I am cancelling those ads. Can anyone tell me where they even are because I can't find them.

I usually get 100-200 views a day, but only two (trades) have been "sales". I want sales!!

For some reason, even though I am getting a lot more appearances according to the search ad stats, my actual "Views" of products is not as much as I thought it might be AND my sales for OCT were terrible compared to Aug and Sept? I will try the search ads a little longer, but I too will probably not bother with it if I don't see some more interest in my page from it. It's weird, I'll see what I can dig up and post again if I find out any good tips... :)

It HAS been an odd month! My shop exposure seems to vary from day to day - some days I get a bunch of interest and maybe multiple sales - other days, next to nothing. I can't make heads or tails of it.

I've decided against search ads, mostly because whenever I'm searching for something, the search ads never seem relevant. Even though I think my own tags are accurate, I don't trust that those "impressions" are going to people looking for what I'm selling.

I know that I'm buying xmas presents here, though, so my fellow Etsy sellers can count on at least one buyer!

I bet the views come from people doing some pre-shopping planning. Gathering ideas of what they want to get to gear up for the Christmas spending!

That would be very nice :D :D I do worry though cos most of my orders are from the USA if the British postal service can get them there in time if I get late Christmas orders!

Just a thought here, doesn't it seem like either you have 200+ sales or you've got less than 10 sales???

I always look at how many sales a shop has, and that seems to be the trend, either booming or scraping by.

Through summer my sales were steadily increasing, September was my best month ever then October I had 2 sales. My views, treasuries and favorites have still been increasing though.

Same with me!!!! I was having pretty good months up until now. Despite getting faves and looks no sales. I hope November changes!!

We have had a incredible increase in shop views. Lots of shop hearts. Sales have been hit and miss. However I did look at our stats for last Oct. and we have more then tripled in the amount of sales... So doing better then I thought.

I've had the same problem as the original post. My views and favorites have increased a LOT in the past couple months, but sales have dwindled down to nearly nothing. I can't figure out why! Does anyone have any insight on this problem, for me or in general?
