Another Search Ad waste

I opened my shop last Feb. and consistently paid for search ads to help get my name out there. Sales have been okay but not great. Views have been not bad - average 75 a day,
But last week with all the expenses of the holidays I decided to stop my search ads
and see what happens. My views remain the same, I got one custom order and when typing in 'scrapbook mini albums' in search 24 of my items came up in the first 10 pages (my shop only has 44 items).
So after months of paying I realize that search ads are a waste of money - SEO IS WHAT MATTERS MOST!

What did your search ads stats show? Were you getting a lot of views from them? Did your sales come from the paid ads or from regular search views?

BTW, your albums and notebooks are gorgeous!

I learnt that too, but luckily I only spent about 3 bucks before I stopped them. i'm currently trying to fix up my seo (still learning but i hope it helps my sales)

Yeah I probably wont use search ads again either, I didnt see any traffic from them and learned the same thing you did!

I used the adds once, and my sister screamed bloody murder at me for doing so. >.< www.etsy.com/shop/Elvengem (that's her shop) But Even when I payed the money for the adds my sales were still horrable and my views were nothing to get excited about. After working with SEO (still could use a little help) My views have now finally hit a constant 40-60 per day when i was getting maybe 2 views a day. Sales have not really increased yet but i'm getting a lot more Favorites!! that's a start.

So I agree working on SEO takes your time, but its soooo much better to spend your time rather then your money. Especially when you see better results!
