Am I the only one with this problem?

It takes me so long to produce an actual Etsy listing, between typing out an initial story (that I'll probably change), to figuring out tags and keywords, to taking and brightening my photos. Then heaven forbid I hate the picture I uploaded--then I basically start over.

It is kind of laughable that it takes me some long. My typical upload time is 2 to 3 days.

Anyone else take a while to create a listing?

yup. takes forever. i started putting generic information in the bottom of each listing that i just copy and paste from one to the other.

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

I do feel like it takes me a while to create a listing. The description always takes the longest, trying to be as clear as possible and to make sure it is cohesive with similar listings in my shop. Also the tags can take a while too. I try to copy and paste whenever possible - every little bit helps. =)

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

it is time consuming. I'm not sure what your entire process is, but I will give you mine.
take pictures
edit on fotofuze.com, easier than some programs
copy and paste item description from older listing
make changes to fit new item
add tags similar, but different than older listing

I will say fotofuze really helped me save editing time. copy and paste is now my best friend. cute shop and good luck!

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

That's my exact process except I use photoshop instead. I can't have too many shadows left on certain items because it won't go with my photo theme.

For me it's not about using a tool to whiten photos as much as it is taking photos at a clever angle. And if I hate it, I'm going to redo it lol.

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

As soon as I finish an item I take the pics, edit the pics, fill out the listing, upload the pictures and post. About an hour from beginning til end.

You'll get faster too. Just takes practice. :)

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

I've had over a year of practice (I own two shops) and my turnaround has actually increased lol. I guess I'm getting super OCD now that I know what I'm looking for.

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

If you go to your listing page you can clip 'copy' of a similar item, change the pictures and description if need be and anything else that might be different. This speeds up a lot of the process!

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

I do the same as Mary, copy a similar listing and then make the appropriate edits. It still takes a bit of time, but it's way faster than starting from scratch.

Re: Am I the only one with this problem?

I write my descriptions in Word and save it . And then cut a paste like Ashlee and Mary.

Now that I have a collection and it makes it easier.

Notice I said easier not easy. It still takes a lot more time than I want to spend.
Anyways I guess we are all in the same boat.
