Am I signed up for DC or not?

Yesterday I signed up for Direct Checkout, and received an email that etsy would deposit $0.01 into my account, to make sure it works. Well, it has been over 24 hours, and I still don't see that cent in my account. But no link to contact them!
What now? I use the link they provided in their mail, so shouldn't the money show up right there?

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Hi there...anyone here who can answer this? I just checked my account again, it still has nothing in it...wouldn't I see the $0.01 deposited by etsy?
And if so, and I am somehow not signed up, what do I do - just repeat the signing-up?

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Sometimes it takes a couple of days for that deposit to show up. I think it took 3 days for me, but I signed up when they were beta testing.

There is an Etsy team for Direct Checkout. You could also try posting your question there: http://www.etsy.com/teams/11969/direct-checkout

Or you can send an email to Etsy Admin. You will get a reply, but it might take a couple of days.

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

I signed up for D.C. when they were first "rolling it out" and letting everyone try it. It took 4 weeks after I initially signed up for them to say - OKAY, now we're going to REALLY let you use it. It then took another 3 days to get the deposits to hook up the account.

It takes a little bit! If you are worried though - do what Michelle said - email Etsy admin, they will have answers for you.

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Oh Michelle - thank you so much!
I will wait till tomorrow, and if there is still nothing, I'll proceed with admin.
In the meantime, I'll go check out that team...maybe there is a similar thread already!
Thanks again, and have a great Sunday!

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Maggie - thank you, too. They told me immediately that I was now signed up, and to test that everything worked they would deposit...it sounded like it would be almost instantaneously. But maybe it is still banking and some time is involved...I will wait till tomorrow before I take action!

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

A lot of it is the banking. This process is EXACTLY like the Paypal verification process. They do the same thing - making 2 tiny deposits of a few cents apiece. They should show up soon! :) Just try to be patient!

Especially since today is Sunday, nothing will happen at least until tomorrow. But if you don't see the deposits by the end of next week, I would email Etsy admin to see what is up.

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Thanks again, Maggie. I can see that if it is 'real banking', that some time would be involved. I wish they made that clear in their communication. It is not that I am all that impatient -who knows when the 1st DC customer comes along- but I thought something was wrong, and didn't know how to rectify it. Don't want a customers payment go down some black hole ;-)

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Claudia - I believe you are set up - as in you can accept payments from direct checkout now - the step you're waiting for is to set up the deposits into your account from direct checkout. So you can accept payment via DC - but they are not set to go to your bank account yet. Once you get the deposits you just type them into the page - and then you'll be able to get your payments when you have a DC customer.

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Hi everyone,
I just want to say I heard back from admin today, and it turns out that the money ($0.01) will have to show up in my bank account, NOT my etsy account. Why they then provide a link to the etsy account is beyond me - extremely confusing. It makes you think you should see their deposit, when it turns out you won't. Anyway, it seems I am set up - still waiting for my 1st DC customer-, but I wanted to share this because the etsy communication on this point is so unclear.
Thanks again for everyone weighing in!

Re: Am I signed up for DC or not?

Also, remember that money is not deposited into your bank account immediately like paypal when a customer pays via CC. Etsy will hold that payment for 3 days regardless if youve already shipped the item. PLUS, you have to wait 10 days the first time. Well, I had to do the 10 day waiting period. Once all of that passed, its a dream. Sales really boosted :) :).
