Advice on listing multiples of an item

I have multiples of several of my items available, but have listed only one at a time. I have photographed some of them differently, making some better fit for certain treasuries, and others may fit a different feel. I am trying to increase traffic in my shop, and understand that having more total items tends to increase views. Does anyone have an opinion about adding multiple listings (not more than two) for the same item in a shop, using varying titles/tags/pictures to gain more hits via SEO? I certainly wouldn't do that for everything, but maybe 5-10 items. I don't want it to seem tacky, is my concern.

I personally wouldn't do it. I would just change the amount available in the listing. Listing one or more seems like a person is trying to be 'tricky' to me. I also find it confusing when I can't tell the difference between listings in a person's shop.

I have multiple listing for a couple items, but I always change something about them. The tags, the description a little, something in the title, the main picture. I mostly do it because some items are more popular & people will buy several at a time, which is quicker than having them convo me & me setting up a custom listing for them. Also I can't always re-list an item that sells right away even if I have more or can make it quickly so having multiples is helpful since I don't need to worry about re-listing right away.

I do feel like it can seem spam-y but I prefer it to just changing the number available in one listing because we need to $0.20 for each one available & I always considered the $0.20 to be payment of a spot in the search results, something you don't really get by just changing the number available.
