Advice needed!

Hi everyone, I joined Etsy a few months ago and haven't gotten any orders or anything.. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on how to improve my page? I'm still very confused on how Etsy works so anything would be awesome.. Please and thank you!

Re: Advice needed!

Hi Randi,
I think that most buyers are only comfortable purchasing if you have clearly spelled out your policies for returns. They also like to know a bit about your process, what are you using to paint the glassware, type of yarn used for your knitting etc.
I think successful sellers also find an idea that is unique to them, and do it very well. Try to work on making something unique, like the initial on the glasses, and make practice to make it very professional looking.
Best of luck with your shop!

Re: Advice needed!

Hi Randi,
One of the most important things is photography. I would suggest have clear photos not cropped with a plain background same to every photo in order to get a cohesive shop.
Check also the below link, you will get lot of info

Good luck!

Yeah, fist work on your photography. It needs a giant overhaul. I looked at some, and I was like, "Is that laundry in the background?!" If you don't have space, get white cardboard, and use that as a backdrop to make it less cluttered and more proffessional.

And you'll want to use more than just one picture.

And join an SEO team and work on that.

Also, for this item, you have a drop down box for us to choose what color we want, than in your description you say this is for any design we want, but the item title is for a patriots beer glass. You'll have to make up your mind what this item is going to be. If its going to be a Patriots glass, why the need for the choice of colors? If its going to be a custom design, you might want to have a logo saying, "Custom Design of your choice" picture, and change the title to reflect that.

Re: Advice needed!

You've received a lot of great advice. You'll notice an improvement in your views once you work on photos and keyword tags. It's worth the time to do!

You might also work on your descriptions. For example, in this product:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/237758146/us-army-themed-beer-glass-made-to-order

I'd want to know how big the glass is, how securely you'll package it, and whether I can just throw it into the dishwasher without ruining the paint. I'd also clarify that you are selling one glass, not two. Some customers do not read the descriptions carefully and might not realize that you are showing both the back and front of the same glass in the opening photo. Try to think of all the questions a customer might have and answer them in the description.

Best of luck with your shop!

Hi, Randi,

The photos you upload to a listing should be landscape 1000 px wide. By having the photos taller than they are wide, you end up with thumbnail photos that are so cropped your customer can't see the entire product for sale. Good luck!

Re: Advice needed!

I know you just opened a few months ago, but it takes time to get the first sale. You need to be patient. It took about 3 months for me to get my first sale. But once you get that first sale you will be jumping for joy. SEO and Etsy search is a really confusing thing to learn and understand.
My first couple of months I watched every video there is on the online labs. There are some books on Amazon about Etsy and selling online. I have joined about 70 teams.
