Advice for setting up a craft fair table...

I'm planning to do a couple craft fairs this year and would greatly appreciate any advice on setting up a display for my jewelry. This will be my first time selling at anything like this so I don't have anything to display my jewelry on. I was wondering what others have done and what creative inexpensive ways you've displayed your items.

Thanks!

Re: Advice for setting up a craft fair table...

Hello, I have a few ideas for you :)

-Old window shutters can be great for displaying earrings on hanging tags.

-I have some crafty friends who have had good luck finding displays on craigslist- from shops that are closing or crafters that are no longer doing shows.

-Another fun thing to do is check out yard sales. I scored a great wooden display for a collection of some sort that I'm adapting. You never know what you can find and repurpose!

-Old picture frames with the glass removed and some sort of padding with fabric covering it can be good for pinning jewelry items up on.

Re: Advice for setting up a craft fair table...

I do not sell jewelry, but have talked to a lot of folks who do.

I had one couple tell me that they used a metal door under a table cloth for their magnetic jewelry (it helped keep it separated).

Another couple told me that they hooked their more expensive pieces down with a safety pin to twart would-be thieves (they caught quite a few).

The best thing I ever saw was a frame that was standing upright so the jewelry was hanging and very visable...but most importantly, it was clamped to the table (using clamps like you would in a wood shop) so that the wind could not blow it over.

A friend of mine lost a lot of glass jewelry in a wind storm. I felt very badly for her.

Good luck!

I often go to Google images, you can find some creative booth displays as well.
