Does anyone have success with advertising anywhere outside of etsy? Thanks in advance!

Yes, I do. I advertise with a popular blog and have been for about a year. I am very happy with it. Along with a side bar ad, I do giveaways, sponsor charity events, and she sometimes includes me in articles. She also did a feature (free) to start which has brought me close to 1,000 sales to date. I direct the ad to my stand alone site, not to Etsy, but she has linked my Etsy shop before so I get traffic on both!

First try advertising with social media (free): Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. Each one of these sites has brought me traffic. My shop is new so they haven't brought sales yet, but those will come with time as I gain followers. You'll need about 1000 followers on Instagram to get sales, not sure about the others.

Any experiences with craftori?

I upload about every 3rd item to craftori the free sections and get small but pretty steady traffic from there.

Did try their paid option....and saw like nothing. Might have tried it at the wrong time, or with the wrong item but ya

I've never heard of Craftori... I've got quite a lot of my sales through Etsy, my sister-in-law helped me with tags and key words (I am so rubbish at thinking of things to search for!) and that has helped massively. I get quite a lot of enquiries through Facebook and do a giveaway every time I get to a 00 number of likes, and that always generates a bit of excitement. It's just spending a solid amount of time researching and posting, and commenting on others' posts!
