Adding Men's Items?

Since my shop is new, I am still defining who my target demographic is. Do you think It would be beneficial to add men's items to my shop as well? I was thinking money clips, tie bars, and cufflinks? Do you think men would buy from a store that has the majority of items for women? I have sold bow ties before, but not enough to get a good feel about everything.

Re: Adding Men's Items?

The extra benefit is that your target audience (women) will be able to buy things for the men in their lives while already shopping your store. Bonus!

Re: Adding Men's Items?

The more items you have, the more ways you can be found. The more diverse your items, the wider audience that could find you. Add those men's items!

Re: Adding Men's Items?

Go for it! I added men's jewelry in my other shop and it has paid off - although I can never tell if the women are buying for their man or themselves ;)

Re: Adding Men's Items?

Most of my items that sell are geared toward men. Half the time it is the women buying for them, but the other half is men buying for themselves.

Re: Adding Men's Items?

Definitely add them! I don't add men's hats very often, but when I do, they always sell. **Note to self...add more men's hats** ;)

Re: Adding Men's Items?

The majority of my items are female accessories, but I have a few unisex items. I just photograph them on males and females. I have also just opened but I haven't heard anything negative about having both. Good luck!

Re: Adding Men's Items?

i mark my friendship bracelets as unisex because i have seen men running around even with pink bracelets and even though most of my customers are women i have also had men purchase from my shop
i´d say go for it!

Re: Adding Men's Items?

I sell mens neckwear & the majority of my customers are male, though I do have female customers who shop for men in their lives, as well as for themselves.

As a man myself, I wouldn't have any issue with shopping for accessories for myself from a shop that mostly had women's items. Just make sure your titles, tags & SEO are bang on so that you can be found.

I'd say about a third of my sales are to men. Men do shop Etsy so go for it.
