Adding Catholic Items to a mostly secular shop?

I can make a beautiful hematite Rosary, which is pretty much a strictly Catholic item. I don't have enough time or energy to devout another shop to it, so would having a "Catholic" section to a mostly secular shop hurt overall sales? I know some people are so against religion they refuse to support anything that has anything to do with it. Would most people likely just not care whatsoever?

Thanks for the advice.

Im not sure but a Rosary is not as strictly catholic as you might think, here in the UK you see many wearing them and most people are not Catholics. I sell Buddhist themed jewelry to people of all religions and athiests alike. Maybe people are more open to other cultures now? Id try it

I wouldn't think it would hurt. I am not Catholic but I would not hesitate to buy from a shop that had some Catholic items.

Go for it! :D
I don't think it is only a Catholic item, and maybe it will sell soon!

I sell vintage items and some of the items are religious. I think variety in a shop can benefit you. You never know what someone can be looking for.

How about adding a "RELIGIOUS" section? How about rounding it out with a Celtic cross (bare, without Jesus hanging on it) so that it is non strictly one religion?

I'm not Catholic and it wouldn't ever occur to me to not shop in a store that has religious items. I think you should go for it!

Re: Adding Catholic Items to a mostly secular shop?

I've seen a couple shops with " Crosses and Things" or "Rosaries and Crosses" as sections, maybe create a collection of crosses and other religiously symbolic items from many cultures.

I think respect is the key...as with so many other parts of life....;)

I am Orthodox, and I like zen, buddist and shinto items....so I don't think that this is a problem....

I don't support organized religion and I would not hesitate to purchase something from your shop just because you also rosaries or other religious items. I don't see that as supporting religion, I see it as supporting you.

I'm Christian and don't use rosaries but I'm certainly not offended by or wouldn't browse or even buy from a shop that sold rosaries as a category.

So, I don't see anything wrong with selling rosaries. In fact, you could label that section "rosaries". If you feel strongly about your religion and are so inclined, you could even add something about Catholic rosaries, or perhaps make that the shop section title for your rosaries.

I sell Rosary jewelry, meaning jewelry with elements of rosaries and Catholicism. I love the aesthetic of rosaries and vintage medals. I wouldn't worry about people being offended. I think people are intrigued by rosaries. I know I am.

I do worry that Catholics who like my jewelry might be offended by my Vodou and Santeria inspired items, though. :)

Victoria,
Seems to me from what you have said in your shop profile that you LOVE to create....many different kinds of things. I'd put the rosaries in the shop. Why not? They aren't just a catholic item really anymore than mala bead bracelets are Buddhist only,etc.etc. People that you want as customers aren't going to get offended by you adding the rosaries to your shop inventory.
